City

How big is Madrid?
About 3 million people live in the centre of Madrid. Including the suburbs there are about 4 million inhabitants.
 
How can I get to Madrid?
Madrid is well-connected with all airports worldwide. You can also take a coach from some European cities to Madrid - and of course you can also come by train or by car.
 
What is public transport like?
Public transport in Madrid is excellent, you can get everywhere by metro or by bus. The best thing about it: it is not very expensive.
 
What's the weather like?
Madrid has a warm temperate climate, with hot, dry summers (30-35C) and moderately cold winters (10-20C).
 
What kind of Spanish do people speak in Madrid?
People in Madrid speak clearly and without any accent. The vast majority of the people in Madrid speaks without an accent.
 

School

Since when does the school exist?
We excist for almost 10 years now, since 2001.
 
Where are the students from?
Students come to Madrid from all over the world: Europe (75%), America and Australia (15%), Asia and Africa (10%). Courses are suitable for everybody.
 
What is the average age of the students?
The age ranges are: 18-30 (70%), 30-40 (20%), over 40 (10%).
 
Can I use the Internet at school?
Yes, there's free wireless Internet available in the school and also some computers which you can use free of charge.
 

Courses

How can I know if there are still places available?
We can always guarantee availability if we receive your booking and down payment at the latest 2 weeks prior to the start date. If you want to start within 2 weeks, please contact us for availability.
 
Can I stay for just 1 week?
Yes, we are one of the very few schools in Madrid which accept students for only one week (but your language course will be more successful if you stay longer).
 
When does the course start?
The course starts on the Monday of any week you wish (except for absolute beginners, check out the "courses" section for start dates).
 
Can I change the group if I feel that the level is not right for me?
Yes, then we'll have a chat with the teacher and look for the best solution for you.
 
Do I get a certificate?
Yes, on the last day of your course you receive a certificate indicating the time spent at school, the progress made and the level achieved.
 

Accommodation

What is the distance between accommodation and the school?
It depends. Most accommodation is centrally located and all well connected with underground and bus. (Sometimes you can even walk to the school) All accommodations are within a 15 minutes distance of the school, walking or by public transport.
 
Can I change my accommodation if Im not satisfied?
Yes, as long as we have something similar available.
 
Is there a washing machine in the accommodation?
Yes.
 
Do I need bed linen for the shared apartments?
No, bed linen is provided.
 
When can I first get into my room, when do I have to leave?
Arrival day is the Sunday before you course starts and departure day is the Saturday after the end of your course.
 
Could I arrive some days before the beginning of the course?
Only as an exception and in case we have rooms available. If not so, we will recommend you a pension for these extra-nights.
 

Enrolment and payment

Can I book for next week?
In order to guarantee yourself a place in one of our courses and accommodations, you should enrol at the latest 2 weeks before the first day of the course. If you would like to start within 3 weeks time or less, please contact us and we can check if there is a place in one of our courses.
 
How can I book a course?
You can book clicking the 'enrol now' button. Now follow the steps of the booking system. For support you can call us between 9.00h and 17.30. Or you can send an email with the request to call you at a time that suits you best.
 
How does the payment work?
You pay a down payment of 100 to Lingua during your enrolment. We accept credit cards, bank transfer, paypal, etc. The remaining amount (course, accommodation and airport transfer) has to be paid on the first course day at the school.
 
How do I receive a confirmation?
You will receive a confirmation of your booking by e-mail. Then you will have access to a personal lingua page where you can find all information necessary.
 

Journey

Do you take care of the flight?
You should book your own flight. We can give you advice about good or cheap airlines to Madrid. Please contact us for inquiries.
 
What is an airport transfer?
You can book the airport transfer ahead. An employee of the school will pick you up at the airport and drive you to your accommodation or directly to the school. You can find the price under the section "prices".
